hear ye, hear ye.
so here's the maiden voyage into the blog world.
i can't guarantee you'll walk away with life's greatest lesson everyday that you read. but wouldn't that be something? if one day your search led you to this blog and you somehow found the purpose of your purpose in a few ramblings?
here's a few things to take away with you. i am 26, nearly 27. i live on my own, in a lifeless town except for a big 10 university down the street. aside from corner pubs with cheap beer, fast and cheap chinese food and 24 hour delivery service, there really isn't any reason to venture that far east.
i live alone and live the 'young professional' lifestyle. which translates to thousands of dollars worth of the latest electronic goodies sitting atop hand-me-down coffeetables and inexpensive Ikea end tables. most days i eat Ramen noodles for lunch while thinking, 'today will finally be the day fold that pile of clothes that has been sitting in the laundry basket for over a week.'
i don't own an iron because, really, what's the point? i don't plan my work outfits out ahead of time and can guarantee that i will never make time in the mornings to put it to use. i thank the little children in china, india and turkey for using materials that do not wrinkle easily. i spend way too much money on expensive soaps, hair products and cigarettes. but if you can't look forward to the solitude of your next cigarette break, then what can you look forward to?
